The Peelerswere formed in North Glengarry County in Eastern Ontario Canada in 1999, and are now based out of Montreal. The band has evolved to become one of the most exciting and energetic Celtic punk acts in Canada. Glengarry has always been a hub of Celtic culture, and original members immersed themselves in this legacy from youth. An area separated from New York State by the St. Lawrence River to the South, it was originally settled by Gaelic immigrants who chose the name Glengarry in memory of home. The Peelers bow the rules of tradition, with their blend of punk rock & traditional Irish music.
Over the past 17 years the band has performed at pubs, clubs, festivals, theatres, arenas, alehouses, snowboarding championships, barrooms, beer gardens, cocktail lounges, inns, public houses, saloons, and taverns throughout North America. The current lineup has performed, or shared bills with every major act in the genre, including Flogging Molly, The Mahones, members of The Pogues and Dropkick Murphys to name a few.
A brand new 13 track album, entitled ‘Palace of the Fiend' is set for release in January 2017. The new album features contributions from an impressive list of guests, including Johnny Fay (The Tragically Hip), Finny McConnell (The Mahones), Alan Snoddy (ex-Stars, Tommy Youngsteen, Bellwoods), The Queen of Ska - Lorraine Muller (Kingpins, Lo and the Magnetics, Les Handclaps), Paddy Taylor (Planet Smashers) and others.
Rocking stages of all sizes since their inception in 2011, Bodh'aktan conquers crowds everywhere! With an attitude of "take no prisoners" this band has confidently taken the stage in the company of bands such as La Bottine Souriante, Les Trois Accords, Eric Lapointe, and Les Cowboys Fringants.
Seven musicians lined up on the front of the stage, waging war on the mundane! Music, beards, sweat and fun – energy at top speed!
Bodh’aktan’s first ablum, Au Diable les Remords put the band in the eye of the storm; this is a band which knows how to have fun, but also knows how to work hard! After more than 200 shows in three years, Bodh’aktan is just getting going!
Armed with little more than their kilts and their beards, the boys have seen every corner of Quebec. They have brought their show, their love of music, and their infectious party atmosphere to Las Vegas, France, Germany, Italia, Belgium and USA.
Towards the end of 2013, Bodh’aktan released its second album, “Tant Qu’il Restera du Rhum.” Just like its predecessor, this album was also nominated for Rock Album of the Year at the 2014 ADISQ gala awards. It was co-produced by Fred St-Gelais (Marie-Mai, Juno-nominated producer), features Alan Doyle (Great Big Sea) as a co-writer on Dansez (Dance Hey), and showcases the talents of Yves Lambert on the song Trash Tombola. The popular singer of the Matmatah, Tristan Nihouarn, also lends his voice to the song Lambe an Dro.
"Bodh’aktan’s music combines elements of celtic, trad-Quebecois, polka, punk, Irish folk, Breton and Maritime. The result, based on a solid formula of energetic rock, is fantastically exciting and well-conceived. This is a gargantuan achievement!" - MusikUniverse.net

BLAKDENIM is a vanguard act that infuses hip-hop, funk, rock and soul with lyrical content that ranges from the serious to the absurd, the tone from sweet to heavy, all connected by head-nodding melodies. The line-up includes drums, bass guitar, keyboard, trumpet, saxophone, flute, female vocalist and an emcee.
The band has created serious buzz from live appearances at venues big and small including playing two consecutive summers at Ottawa Bluesfest, Festival d’éte de Québec, two dates at Montreal International Jazz Festival and placing third at Indie Week Canada. The band’s current release “Complexus” as well as their debut offering “Vanguard(en)” have both been featured on CBC radio. Both releases have also received attention from commercial and college radio including appearances at the top of charts.
IndieBlender recently said of BLAKDENIM, “[they] are the complete package. If you’re looking for passionate lyrics, infectious rhythms, expertly layered instrumentals, or simply something to move your feet to, this is a band you have to check out.” This is one indication that BLAKDENIM is realizing exactly what they set out to achieve when they came together in an Ottawa, ON basement in late 2012.
